Convenient Ferrite Content Measurement
The List-Magnetik FERRITE-CHECK 240 is a convenient ferrite content measuring device with a color display and an external probe. It measures the ferrite content in austenitic and duplex steels according to the Basel standard DIN EN ISO 8249 using the magnetic induction method. This method is essential for testing ferromagnetic materials and ensures precise results, especially when checking weld seams and other critical joints.

Thanks to its high sampling rate, the newly developed digital probe technology enables extremely stable measurements. The signals are digitized in the probe for absolutely interference-free and precise measurements, allowing for very accurate and reproducible results.

A great help for China standards
GB/T 150.1-2024 is the first part of the Chinese national standard for metal pressure vessels, focusing on General Requirements. This standard, published on July 24, 2024, specifies the general requirements for the material, design, fabrication, inspection, and testing of metal pressure vessels used in China. FERRITE-CHECK 240 helps you verify compliance with the ferrite content requirements of this standard.

Color display of ferrite content
The ferrite content meter features an innovative graphic LCD touch panel with user guidance and a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Its yellow-green silicone frame effectively protects the housing from damage, making it robust enough for use in materials testing and analysis. It can measure in both FN (ferrite number) and Fe% (iron content), enabling precise assessment of ferrite content in austenitic and duplex steels.

Measurement of ferrite content in welds
It is particularly important to measure the ferrite content of welded duplex steels to ensure the weld seam has sufficient ferrite content to guarantee the strength of the welded joint. Insufficient heat input or incorrect cooling in the welding area may result in too low of a ferrite content, which negatively affects the mechanical properties of the weld seam.

Fast and Continuous Ferrite Content Measurement
The FERRITE-CHECK 240 accurately and quickly determines the ferrite content. To detect the weld seam on smooth or polished surfaces, switch the device to scan mode. As the probe is moved along the surface, the device continuously saves the measured values and displays the statistics of the minimum, maximum, and average values of the measurement series.

Calibration of the Ferrite Content Tester
The FERRITE-CHECK 240 is supplied with 3 calibration standards traceable to the NIST standard.

Interfaces and operation
Thanks to the flexible, divisible memory for measured values and the wireless interface for Windows, Android, and iOS, you have all the options you need to record and process your measured values.

The device has an SCPI interface that allows it to carry out remote-controlled measurements in industrial line operation and supply measured values. The USB connection ensures the power supply and continuous operation.

The device can be powered by three AA batteries or an external source connected via USB. This allows you to operate the device with a power bank or a mains adapter.

The probe cable can be plugged in at both ends to connect the display device and digital probe. It can also be easily replaced in the event of a break.

Manage and send measurement data with a free application

To further process your measurement data, you can pair your measuring device with mobile Android and iOS devices. Or you communicate with a Windows PC. This is made possible by wireless technology. With the Lima Connect app you can manage projects and assign the measuring points on a photo. The measurement results can be statistically evaluated and displayed graphically. The app for Android, iOS and Windows is free.
