MagInspect is ideal for testing permanent magnetic materials, including AlNiCo, ferrite, SmCo, and neodymium. MagInspect provides precise measurements of the hysteresis curve and supports the testing and analysis of these specialized magnetic materials.

MagInspect is an affordable, easy-to-use testing device that records magnetization and demagnetization curves using a pulse method.
Its control unit and external pulse measuring probe are equipped with innovative measuring electronics that enable precise and reliable magnetization and demagnetization curve measurements.
MagInspect has the advantage of allowing for a wide range of object geometries, whereas special magnet geometries are required when measuring with a permagraph.
The pulse measuring probe is equipped with a built-in Hall probe and newly developed measuring electronics. It can record the Hall probe's measured values very precisely at frequencies up to 10 kHz using a 16-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) converter. A magnetizing and demagnetizing coil is also installed to generate magnetizing and demagnetizing pulses. The control unit generates individual pulses while the probe's electronics precisely record the magnetic peak field strength (H-value) and flux value (B-value) of the magnetic material.
The complete measurement sequence is automatic and generates 10-13 pulses for the magnetization and demagnetization processes. The magnetic material can be selected in the control unit to ensure the correct parameters are used.
Based on the H and B values, the control unit generates a hysteresis curve in steps, which is displayed in color. The coercive force (IHcI_HcIHc) and remanence (BrBr_rBr) are direct results of the hysteresis curve and provide important information for magnetic material analysis and testing.
At the end of the process, the values can be transferred to Microsoft Excel. Excel offers a DataStreamer import function that makes it possible to transfer data directly from the control unit. An Excel macro with a mathematical spline function calculates and displays a precise hysteresis curve.
MagInspect offers a quick method for comparing Hc values of materials during quality testing in series production. This procedure allows for the efficient and precise testing of materials during production, enabling the quick evaluation of their magnetic properties and ensuring quality.
With the quick method, a user can manually trigger a magnetizing and demagnetizing pulse tailored to the magnetic material. Consequently, the Hc (coercive force) and Br (remanence) values are displayed directly on the control unit.
The pulse method uses a small probe to achieve the high field strengths required to saturate the material. This high level of precision allows for precise testing and analysis of the magnetic properties of materials, especially small or complexly shaped magnetic materials.
There is no need for an external, complex magnetizing yoke with special pole inserts for different magnet geometries. This simplifies the process, as the probe directly generates the necessary magnetizing and demagnetizing pulses, eliminating the need for additional equipment.
The pulse method does not require compensation coils to determine the B value of magnetic materials because each pulse completely decays, and no excitation field is present during B measurements.
The small pulse measuring probe is largely independent of magnet geometry, so external magnets on rotors can be measured without issue.
MagInspect is considerably more cost-effective than a permagraph and offers an efficient solution for testing and analyzing magnetic materials.
