Silverwing - Floormap MFL Tank Bottom Inspection Scanner

Code: Silverwing - Floormap MFL Tank Bottom Inspection

Datasheet PDF, 3.75 Mb

Description

The Floormap tank bottom inspection system combines two technologies: magnetic-flux leakage (MFL) and surface topology air-gap reluctance sensors (STARS). Featuring top and bottom plate corrosion views and capable of going as fast as 1 m/s (3.2 ft/s), Floormap improves the complete tank inspection process.

Features:

  • Variable speeds: 500 mm/s to 1 m/s (19.7 in/s to 3.3 ft/s)
  • Motor driven
  • 256 individual sensors (64 channels)
  • High resolution: 4.6 × 2 mm (0.20 × 0.08 in)
  • Advanced signal processing and defect classification tools
  • Through-coating inspection up to 6 mm (0.24 in), including fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP), glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), and stainless steel
  • Simple data transfer through USB
  • Digital calibration for different plate thicknesses
  • Battery powered, no trailing cables
  • Touch-screen computer providing immediate plate views for defect assessment

Benefits

  • Advanced defect sizing and classification tools
  • Auditable inspection data
  • Full tank floor mapping mode
  • Full data recording
  • Free-scan and stop-on-defect modes
  • High probability of detection
  • Inspection confidence
  • Field-proven durability and reliability

Available Models:

Floormap-R

Basic model with free-scan and auto-stop modes designed to rapidly screen storage tank bottoms. Free-scan mode displays live MFL views of the plate, color coded to show the magnitude of MFL signals or as simple black-and-white views only showing defects above a preset threshold. Auto-stop mode stops the scanner whenever defects are detected above a preset threshold.

Floormap3Di-R

Intermediate model including a mapping mode. Unlike Floormap-R, Floormap3Di-R captures, saves, and produces corrosion maps of tank bottoms. You can analyze the maps after each scan or perform post inspection in the dedicated SIMS reporting software, enabling tank engineers to compare and review historical data sets to determine optimal repair strategies.

Floormap3DiM-R

Advanced model combining the benefits of Floormap-R and Floormap3DiM-R for a full-featured system offering maximum flexibility.

Two Technologies: MFL and STARS

Floormap combines two distinct technologies: MFL and STARS. MFL sensors are used to detect corrosion in the tank bottom, while STARS is a patented technology that helps determine whether corrosion is top side or bottom side. STARS can also be used to see the top surface, under a coating.
